The Coercive Control Recovery and Education Hub
You are not imagining it.
You are not alone.
And you can understand what happened to you.
The CCR Hub is a home for anyone affected by coercive control and domestic abuse globally and for the professionals who work to protect them—trauma-informed support, real education, and a community that believes you, founded by Emma Davey.

What is coercive control?
Coercive control is a pattern of abusive behaviour, and it can come from one person or more than one. It can include isolation from friends and family, monitoring and surveillance, financial control, threats, humiliation, and the slow erosion of your confidence in your own judgement. It’s a criminal offence in its own right in the UK under Section 76 of the Serious Crime Act 2015: coercive and controlling behaviour, and it’s one of the strongest predictors of serious harm. It has a huge psychological and physical impact on those experiencing it.
It’s also one of the hardest things to name. When there are no physical marks, no single incident to point to, it’s easy to doubt yourself, to wonder whether it was “really” abuse, whether anyone would believe you, or whether you’re remembering it right. That confusion isn’t a failure of memory or judgement. It’s exactly what coercive control is designed to produce. It’s designed to break your soul, not your bones.
Understanding its elements- what it looks like, why it works, and how it’s recognised in law is often the first step to recognising it in your own life.
Recovery meets education
It’s incredibly hard to recover from something you don’t fully understand. That’s why The CCR Hub brings recovery and education together, rather than treating them as separate things.
Emma is an MBACP trauma-informed counsellor and is completing an MSc in the Psychology of Coercive Control at the University of Salford. Knowledge is power. The more you understand coercive control, the more you’ll recognise it early, and that recognition is a protective layer every one of us needs, whatever our age or gender.
Why the Statement, Evidence & Impact Workbook exists
Emma has helped thousands of people over the years, and along the way she noticed a consistent gap: survivors are rarely taught how to document what happened to them, or how to present it in a way that agencies and professionals can actually understand not just the surface details, but the full extent and severity of it.
That’s where Emma’s lived and learned experience makes the difference. She created the Statement, Evidence & Impact Workbook so you can document your experience in a way that properly informs the professionals who need to understand it: police, solicitors, CAFCASS, and family or criminal courts.
If you’re going through the family or criminal court process, this isn’t a nice-to-have. It’s vital, and it’s one of the best investments you’ll make in your own case, and in yourself.
